
England's qualification for the FIFA Under 17 World Cup means another World Cup this summer, with the Under 20s participating in Colombia
England’s 3-0 triumph over Serbia propelled them into the semi-finals of the European Under 17 Championships.
France could have stopped England’s qualification but were beaten 1-0 by group leaders Denmark as they only managed to qualify for the Under 17 World Cup in Mexico.
England’s victory was all but secure only 18 minutes into the game as they put three past the host nation within that period.
Brad Smith opened the scoring. Whether he meant the stunning lob from the corner of the area is beyond anyone but himself, nevertheless it was a stunning goal under sensational circumstances.
Hallam Hope scored the other two goals.
The Everton starlet’s second was a superb 25-yard effort which flew past the goalkeeper.
Christian Noorgaard got Denmark’s winner that made sure of England’s progression.
England will now face Netherlands in the semi-finals whilst Denmark take on Germany.
All semi-final participants have qualified for the FIFA Under 17 World Cup along with France and Czech Republic.
