Tottenham Hotspur came from a goal down to beat German outfit VFL Wolfsburg and move top of group one in this year’s NextGen Series.
Despite Spurs domination of the first-half, including a very close effort from Alex Pritchard just after ten minutes, Philip Hauck converted a penalty for the home side after Alex McQueen’s foul was judged to be illegal.
The second half was a much more entertaining affair and Spurs didn’t wait long to see themselves level as Shaquile Coulthirst scored in the 63rd minute with a deflected 19-yard effort to bring the scores equal.
15 minutes later Spurs went ahead as substitute Ruben Lameiras calmly slotted in to give the Lilywhites a lead. He latched on to the rebound that came from Souleymane Coulibaly’s effort and volleyed home to send them ahead.
Three minutes from the end, the most dangerous man on the pitch Alex Pritchard scored an impressive 20-yard free-kick to secure the victory for the visitors.
Wolfsburg were able to pull a consolation goal back in injury time through Julian Brandt but it was not enough to gain any points from the game as Spurs moved to the top of the group.
