Manchester City’s highly-rated 20-year-old striker John Guidetti has caught the attention of Aston Villa and Sunderland as both clubs line up a January swoop for the Swede, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Guidetti signed a long-term contract at the Etihad in October but is yet to make an appearance for the Premier League champions as he recovers from a virus which caused paralysis in his right leg.
The youngster scored an impressive 20 goals in 23 appearances whilst out on loan at Feyenoord last season in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Galatasaray are also rumoured to be interested in Guidetti.
Lambert had an extensive number of scouts watching the forward last season and despite the addition of Christian Benteke, Villa remain one of the lowest scorers in the league in desperate need of fire power.
Earlier in 2012, The Youth Radar tipped Guidetti to be a huge success in years to come and so far all indications are pointing that way.
His youth career was nothing short of prolific. At the time of writing the previous article in February 2012, he had netted 17 times in only 26 youth international appearances and has not since added to that. He also scored 13 goals in as many games in his Citizen’s youth career.
He has only made one senior international appearance for Sweden, coming on as a substitute in an away fixture against Croatia.
