Campionato Nazionale Primavera: Lazio Beat Roma In Derby Della Capitale

Group A

It was a relatively shy weekend of goals in Group A but leaders Torino got the win they needed to keep the gap to three points at the top of the league and remain unbeaten.

Emmanuel Gyasi and Morra grabbed the goals needed to give Torino their fifth win of the season.

Empoli sit just behind them after they celebrated a win over Siena.

Leonardo Mattiello scored the only goal of the game after just two minutes.

Siena 0-1 Empoli, Torino 2-1 Sassuolo, Parma 2-3 Juventus, Novara 4-1 Cesena, Genoa 0-0 Bologna, Modena 0-0 Spezia, Carpi 0-1 Sampdoria.

Ivan Francesco De Santis and Davide Di Molfetta scored the goals for the Italian giants.

Chievo remain top of the table though after a 2-1 win over Cittadella.

Victor Da Silva grabbed a double for Chievo while Cittadella’s strike came from Manuel Rizzon.

Varese 1-2 AC Milan, Udinese 2-0 Pescara, Ternana 0-0 Cagliari, Virtus Lanciano 1-3 Brescia, Verona 2-3 Atalanta, Cittadella 1-2 Chievo Verona, Inter Milan 1-1 Padova.

Group C

Roma lost their derby match with Lazio and missed the chance to go three points clear at the top of Group C.

Francesco Di Mariano gave Roma a 22nd minute lead from the penalty spot but Lazio were level three minutes later when Josip Elez equalised.

The winner came from Riccardo Serpieri as he slid in to convert Balde Diao Keita’s cross that dangerously drove across goal.

However, it was an undeserved defeat for Roma who enjoyed a large proportion of the ball, according to ilsussidiario.it.

Lazio’s performance was turned by the substitution of Keita, who produced a marvellous display when he entered the field and ultimately earned them all three points.

Fiorentina 2-0 Reggina, Napoli 1-2 Livorno, Roma 1-2 Lazio, Latina 2-0 Trapani, Juve Stabia 1-1 Catania, Bari 4-1 Avellino, Crotone 2-2 Palermo.
