England Under 17s Squad Named

England Under 17s manager, John Peacock, has revealed his squad to compete in this month’s Algarve Tournament.

Sam Magri is an upcoming talent named in the squad

England will face stiff competition in the shape of Germany, Romania and host nation, Portugal.

In March, England will compete in the UEFA Championship Elite Qualifying Round and see the tournament as ideal match practice.

The Under 17 squad won the Algarve tournament last year. England defeated Ukraine and drew with Portugal and France to lift the trophy. Peacock will be hoping that this year proves the same as last.

England open their campaign with a game against Romania on 24th February. The next day they face Germany before a short break and then facing Portugal on 27th February.

Much of the squad have represented England at youth level before, but Liverpool’s Jack Dunn is a new addition into the squad.

One exciting talent in the squad is Portsmouth defender, Sam Magri. The 17-year old has captained the Under 16 side last season and will be hoping to add to his international caps.
