England Under 16s Contest Stalemate

England Under 16s drew 0-0 in Slovenia last night.

There was eleven debutants in the England squad as the Young Lions played in Koper.

Diego Poyet, son of Brighton manager and Chelsea legend, Gus, captained the side.

Angus Gunn debutized and kept a clean sheet.

Jack Jebb, Ryan Innis, Alastair Gordon, Kieran Wallace and Chuba Akpom were also handed their first international starts.

Tom Fry, Joe Rothwell, Luke Shaw, Darren McQueen and Josh Webb all came off the bench for their debuts.

After seeing two Victory Shield fixtures postponed in November, England will continue that campaign in March. They are scheduled to play Northern Ireland on March 26th.
