Youth Round-Up: Wickham Fires in Hat-Trick

Connor Wickham grabbed a hat-trick for Ipswich

17-year-old Connor Wickham bagged a hat-trick against Doncaster Rovers last night as Ipswich gained their 13th point out of a possible 15.

It is the youngster’s first senior hat-trick and he finished it off by converting a penalty.

Elsewhere, the star of Monday’s FA Youth Cup fixture, Raheem Stirling, has earned a place in Liverpool’s Europa League squad travelling to Prague.

The wonderkid scored 5 on Monday and will become Liverpool’s youngest ever player if he comes on.

Ironically, the player is only allowed to play because it is half-term at school.

19-year-old Eden Hazard’s links with Premier League clubs are becoming more and more frequent.

Manchester United and Arsenal are said to be bidding in the region of £21 million for the Belgian international.

Chelsea are at the centre of a Dutch FA investigation into their controversial move for 15-year-old Feyenoord prospect Nathan Ake.

The inquiry centres on the Blues’ £670,000 signing of the highly rated youngster and the role played by agent Dan Kramp of Forza Fides agency. The transfer has sparked anger in the Netherlands where strict FA rules outlaw children under 16 from having agents. Kramp is accused of taking Ake to Chelsea over Christmas to seal the deal.
