South Africa Replace Libya as Hosts

South Africa have been chosen to host this year’s African Under 20 Championship.

The tournament was stripped from Libya earlier this month due to the political unrest in the country.

The 2010 World Cup hosts will now play home to the tournament which was meant to kick-off tomorrow.

South Africa will also take Libya’s place in the tournament. South Africa failed to qualify after being knocked out to Lesotho.

The tournament will now take place from April 17th until May 2nd.

The four semi-finalists of the tournament will qualify for this years Under 20 World Cup, held in Colombia.

It is a huge blow for Libya whilst it only increases the growing reputation of football in South Africa.

The Youth Radar will follow the tournament and previews will be up soon!
