Under 17s: Elite Round Update

Netherlands have qualified for this summer’s Under 17 European Championship by winning their Elite Round group.

Netherlands celebrate their triumph of reaching the finals

They overcame Austria, Portugal and drew with Croatia to secure their place in the finals.

Joining them so far is Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany and Romania.

England and Spain will play in a winner-takes-all style match on Thursday to crown the champions of Group Five.

In Group 6, France and Norway contest the top spot. Both sides need a win against Belarus and Georgia respectively. The sides are currently on four points each but Norway top the group on goal difference mostly thanks to a huge 5-1 win against Belarus.

The final tournament features the seven group winners plus the host nation, Serbia.

The draw will take place for the finals on 5th April, and The Youth Radar will bring it to you as it happens.

The top three teams in each group in the final tournament will proceed on to the Under 17 World Cup, held in Mexico between 18th June and 10th July.
