Norway Eliminated Despite 5-0 Win

France celebrate their progress to the finals

Norway missed out on their first ever Under 17 European Championships as France beat them to the top of the group on goal difference.

The two sides started the day equal on points and goal difference would decide the victor and therefore the qualifier of the group.

A convincing 5-0 victory was surely enough to send Norway through to the finals, considering they started the day ahead of France on goal difference? Think again…

A whopping 9-0 victory for France over Belarus was enough to send les mini-bleus through to the finals in Serbia.

The hosts will play in the tournament along with France, Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Czech Republic, England and Denmark to contest the tournament in which England are current holders.
