South America, Under 17s

The Race to be Crowned South America’s Best

Argentina are the outsiders, but still have a chance of lifting the trophy

Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina all have a chance of winning this year’s South American Under 17 Championship with only one round of games remaining.

Brazil sit top of the table at the moment but have Uruguay hot on their heels.

Argentina sit third and three points behind Brazil, but still have a shout of winning the title.

Brazil and Argentina play each other in the penultimate game of the tournament later tonight.

Before they play, Uruguay have the chance to take top spot as they face Ecuador.

An Uruguay win will mean that Brazil must win their final match. They may draw if Uruguay don’t win by more than two goals.

If Uruguay loose, Argentina can win by two or more goals and take the title.

A full report on the tournament will be produced on Monday.

Meanwhile, here is the results in the final Group Stage so far and the table, courtesy of Wikipedia.
