England Under 17s Win FA International Tournament

Devante Cole scored England's only goal in their opening win against Italy

England Under 17s have won the FA International Tournament by beating Portugal by a single goal in their final game.

A win was vital for John Peacock’s men after they lost their second-game 1-0 to the Czech Republic.

Devante Cole scored the only goal in an opening win against Italy and Jack Jebb’s finish secured the trophy after this encounter against the Portugese.

England beat Australia, Portugal and Turkey to win the title last year which will please manager John Peacock who believes that any tournament experience at this level is vital for the development of the young players.

This tournament serves as preparation for England’s UEFA U17 Championships First Qualifying Round group where they will travel to Bosnia to face the host nation along with Holland and Latvia.
