FA Youth Cup Third Round: Wins for Everton and Southampton

Ross Barkley netted for Everton in their extra-time victory at Selhurst Park

Everton scraped through the FA Youth Cup third round with Ross Barkley on target as they beat Crystal Palace 2-1.

Crystal Palace took the lead inside the first ten minutes through Alex Wynter and once pegged back the London side managed to take the Toffees into extra-time. Unfortunately for them the away side capitalized during that period and walked away with the victory.

Southampton thrashed Sheffield United 7-0 with a brace from Jordan Sinclair and individual efforts from Jordan Turnbull, Calum Chambers, Sam McQueen, Joe Curtis and James Ward-Prowse.

Brighton and Hove Albion provided the biggest shock of the round as they beat Aston Villa 2-1 and Swindon also surprised neutrals by beating Birmingham City 2-1.
