Inter Milan will join Ajax in the final of this year’s NextGen Series final after beating Marseille by two goals in a game that they utterly dominated.
Marseille’s senior side knocked Inter Milan out the Champions League last week but last night’s result was the complete opposite as they comprehensively trounced the French side.
Lorenzo Crisetig opened the scoring after only two minutes when he netted a delightful 22-yard free-kick. His effort was dispatched to leave Ibrahima Sy absolutely helpless in the Marseille goal.
Christophe Lowinsky’s tackle prevented the Italian’s going even further ahead only a few minutes later as he stole the ball off Samuele Longo in the final moment befort Longo was about to release a shot towards goal.
Ibrahima Sy worked well throughout the first-half to deny Inter on a number of occasions and give his side any hope of clawing back the scoreline.
Inter’s dominance paid dividends in the 41st minute when Daniel Bessa’s ball set off Longo and he netted from 6 yards.
Inter will now meet Ajax in the final at the Matchroom Stadium, home of Leyton Orient, on Sunday.
