FA Youth Cup: Chelsea March Into Final

Piazon's high-profile move last year finally looks to be paying off.

Lucas Piazon fired Chelsea into the FA Youth Cup Final as they defeated Manchester United on Friday night.

He struck on 70 minutes to fire the Blues into the final where they will meet Blackburn Rovers.

Chelsea had the advantage coming into the tie as they won the first leg a few weeks earlier at Old Trafford, 2-1. However, the tie was level when Jack Barmby gave United the lead on the night only a few minutes before the break.

It was a lively opening half to the game and Joe Rothwell and Todd Kane of each side tested the opposition goalkeeper early on.

Barmby’s goal was well-deserved and came after some good running down the left hand flank by the youngster. His drive found it’s way past Jamal Blackman in the Chelsea goal and gave United hope of taking the tie.

Lucas Piazon ended up to be the hero on the night though when he struck past Sutherland on 70 minutes.

Chelsea will play Blackburn Rovers in the final with the date to be confirmed.
