Fulham Claim Premier League Academy Crown

Ryan Williams grabbed Fulham’s second of the game.

Fulham have beaten Blackburn Rovers to claim the FA Premier League Academy crown.

They won 2-0 against the FA Youth Cup finalists to claim the trophy at Craven Cottage after beating Leicester City in the semi-final.

The game started with a very high-tempo to it as Hugo Fernandez of Blackburn had the first effort. The Rovers striker fired just wide after cutting on to his inside and blasting a shot with his left foot.

Josh Pritchard made some vital interceptions in the opening period to deny Blackburn more attacks as Curtis Hanley began to look dangerous.

Fernandez drilled another effort wide on the half hour mark and Rovers looked increasingly threatening.

It was Fernandez again who almost broke the deadlock when he had another effort from just outside the area but couldn’t test Conor Roberts in the Fulham goal.

With the barrage of Blackburn attacks seemingly over, Fulham took full advantage from a corner. The ball was lofted in and Cauley Woodrow was there to find the back of the net and put the home side in front.

Ryan Williams put Fulham two goals in front when he had a ball cut back by Na Bangna and had the opportunity to place the ball into an almost empty net.
