The Daily Mirror has today reported that Sir Alex Ferguson is chasing Lucas Moura, South America’s next big talent.

The Brazilian is also wanted by Chelsea and Real Madrid and could cost around £30million and is still only 19-years-old.

Following a season dry of trophies, Ferguson is eager to bring the youngster to Old Trafford and could be boosted by the fact that his contract is joint-owned by his family. The Manchester United manager already invited his father for a look round Old Trafford in April and if they convince his family that the move is right, it could have huge affects to the likeliness of this move.

The midfielder has played 80 times for Sao Paolo since making his debut at 17-years-old.

United’s other option would be the signing of Luka Modric, who arguably has less re-sell value but has a proven track record in the Premier League.
