Manchester City’s Omar Elabdellaoui has joined Feyenoord on an one-year loan to gain first-team experience.

He recently signed a new contract with the reigning Premier League champions and sees the Dutch club as the ideal location to develop his talent before challenging for a spot in the Manchester club’s first-team.

Elabdellaoui talked about the move with former teammate John Guidetti, who has been a sensation since joining Feyenoord.

“I spoke to John about the move and he had only good things to say about Feyenoord,” The Norway under 21 international told City’s official website.

“It’s an exciting challenge for me and it gives me the opportunity to play regular first-team football that will obviously benefit me and hopefully City as well in the long term.

“I was very happy to agree a new contract with City so everything is moving in the right direction. I’m just going to do my best for Feyenoord and enjoy my time in the Eredivisie.”
