Southampton youngster Luke Shaw will sign a new long-term deal with the Premier League side.
The south-coast club will be excited to keep hold of Shaw as the 17-year-old has recently broken into the first team at St Mary’s and the new deal should put off interest from a number of major clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.
Southampton have had many of their youngsters snapped up by bigger teams in recent years but Shaw will be one they’d hope to keep for the future if they are to survive in the Premier League. Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all came out of the Saints academy in recent times.
Shaw has made 12 appearances for the club this season and the attacking full-back will sign a five-year deal on his 18th birthday.
