A Nancy official reportedly told Reuters on Monday that the Ligue 1 side’s top asset Massadio Haidara will be moving to Newcastle imminently.
The French Under-21 star is expected to complete a medical today ahead of the Premier League move.
A statement on Nancy’s official website read: ‘After 46 matches in two and half years in the jersey of AS Nancy, Massadio Haidara is leaving his former club for Newcastle United, currently sitting 16th in the Premier League.
‘The two clubs reached an agreement and will finalise the transfer this Tuesday.’
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is expected to pay 3.5 million euros for the 20-year-old’s services as he signs a five-and-a-half year deal.
The French starlet has played 46 times for Nancy and joins Mathieu Debuchy as the second French defender travelling across the channel to play his trade in England this January.
