Liverpool Run Riot To Halt Histon FA Youth Cup Progress

Sinclair has been in outstanding form so far this season.

Liverpool ended Histon’s dream run in the FA Youth Cup last night as they trashed the non-league minnows 4-0.

After their high-profile defeat of Bradford City in the last round, Histon landed a potentially giant-killing tie with the Premier League big boys.

Kristoffer Peterson put Liverpool ahead after 17 minutes before Jerome Sinclair doubled the Reds lead.

His goal came minutes into the second half when he scored a cheeky back-heeled effort which caught the goalkeeper off-guard.

A superb strike from Jack Dunn made it 3-0 to Steve Cooper’s side and Daniel Trickett-Smith’s neat finish made sure of the victory and concluded the 4-0 win.

With the side progressing in the FA Youth Cup and their NextGen Series side entering the knockout stages of the competition, where they face Sporting Lisbon on February 20, it has been a season of success for the Anfield youth sides. Also, their Under-21 side finished the first half of their season unbeaten  – all of this contrastingto the fortunes of the first-team.
