Chelsea advance to the semi-finals of the NextGen Series as they beat Juventus on home soil this afternoon.
A double from Lewis Baker plus individual efforts from Alex Kiwomya and Islam Feruz made the difference as Chelsea ran out 4-1 winners.
It was the captain Baker who opened the scoring after 11 minutes when he carved an opening and let leash from 25-yards at Brentford’s Griffin Park.
Kiwomya doubled the lead minutes later when an Islam Feruz-led attack was finished off neatly.
Chelsea began to toy with Juventus as the game matured and produced a superb first-half performance in which their goal was only threatened when Nathan Ake almost put into his own goal.
Juventus pulled one back midway through the the second half through Daniele Rugani as he headed home Stefano Beltrame’s free kick.
Feruz extended Chelsea’s lead on 83 minutes when he converted Kiwomya’s square ball and Baker rounded off the scoring in the final minute of the match by finishing a well constructed move.
Chelsea will now contest the semi finals in Lake Como, Italy.
