VIDEO: Holland U21 3-2 Germany U21 – Thrilling Prospect Brings An Equally Exciting Clash

Holland won their opening game of this year’s European Under 21 Championship by taking all three points out of a thrilling encounter with Germany.

Leroy Fer, who has previously been on the radar of Everton, scored the winner in the final minute to secure the win for Cor Pot’s men.

Adam Maher got Holland off to a perfect start with a ferocious hit from the edge of the box.¬†Georginio Wijnaldum’s goal stood after the goalkeeper tried to clear it off the line but was unable to keep it in play to put the Netherlands 2-0 up at half time.

Germany came out for the second half seeking revenge and almost did just that. They levelled through Sebastian Rudy from the spot and captain Lewis Holtby, of Tottenham Hotspur, scored to equal the scores and secure what seemed like a point apiece.

But Fer’s 90th minute effort sparked wild celebrations and puts Holland top of their group after matchday 1.
