Jesse Lingard formed part of a frightening front five for United.

After losing their opening game of the season last weekend against Liverpool, Manchester United U21s bounced back in style with a 4-0 thrashing of West Brom.

United lined up with a frightening front five of Larnell Cole, Nick Powell, Jese Lingard, Adnan Januzaj & Angelo Henríquez, and the hype didn’t let anyone down as Powell put them ahead after just fifteen minutes by heading in a corner.

Lingard linked up with Henriquez to score the second as a shot that flashed across goal from the England Under 21 international found the Chilean at the back post to tap home.

Henriquez won the penalty for United’s third which Januzaj elegantly stepped up to dispatch right into the top of the net – unstoppable.

Guillermo Varela’s neat play set up substitute Tom Lawrence to add United’s fourth and effectively end any chance that West Brom had of salvaging anything from the game.
