Adnan Januzaj is the stand-out name in Manchester United’s squad for this season’s inaugural UEFA Youth League competition.
Nicky Butt will take charge of the side that also have Andres Pereira and current under 18 top goalscorer James Wilson at their disposal.
Januzaj is rumoured to be wanted by Blackburn Rovers on loan, or a permanent deal to Juventus to follow the same path as Paul Pogba, but it is unlikely that Januzaj will leave for any long period of time given the impression he has made among the United fans in the past few months.
He made his first-team debut for United against Wigan Athletic in this season’s Community Shield final and pushed his way on to the bench for a number of games at the end of Ferguson’s reign last season.
United will face tests against Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Sociedad in the UEFA Youth League this season.
Watch out for The Youth Radar’s massive preview of the UEFA Youth League in the coming days before the start of the tournament next week.
Man United’s opening game will be shown LIVE on Eurosport against Bayer Leverkusen next Tuesday.
