Chelsea have been told they are going to have to wait until next summer to pick up German under 19 international Julian Brandt.
The 17-year-old midfielder hasn’t played in the first-team yet this season for his club Wolfsburg, but is impressing in the under 19 side, netting five times in eight game so far this season as the Wolfsburg youngsters maintain a perfect record in the Junioren Bundesliga U19.
Klaus Allofs, Wolfsburg’s sporting director, told TMW: “”There are no signs that the player can leave before next summer,”
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the youngster, who’s contract expires at the end of the season after he rejected a new deal.
A Wofsburg spokesperson confirmed to Deutsche Presseagentur: “Julian Brandt has turned down the offer to sign a new contract with VfL Wolfsburg.
“As he is out of contract at the end of the campaign, Julian Brandt will therefore depart from VfL Wolfsburg.”
