Goals from Cristiano Lombardi and Luca Crecco saw Lazio win the top-of-the-table clash in Group C of the Campionato Nazionale Primavera against Fiorentina.
Before the game, Viola and Lazio were locked on 24 points at the top of the division, with Fiorentina edging ahead on goal difference, but that all changed yesterday afternoon.
Lombardi opened the scoring from distance after just 16 minutes and it wasn’t long before Crecco doubled the lead. Crecco managed to get on the end of Mamadou Tonkara’s cross to seal the victory in the first half.
In Group A, Juventus are keeping up the pressure on leaders Torino and second-placed Empoli after this weekend’s win against Modena.
Modena found themselves ahead early on through Guiseppe Franco. Seven minutes later though Juventus were level through Sergio Buenacasa.
Juventus were ahead when Simone Emmanuello scored but a quick Bridges equaliser made it 2-2.
With 15 minutes to play Juventus stepped it up a gear and finished Modena off with two well-taken goals. Filippo Romagna made it 3-2 and Younes Marzouk finished the scoring.
