Barclays U18 Premier League: Manchester City Beat United For Second Time In A Week

City celebrate their goal.

City celebrate their goal.

Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the Barclays U18 Premier League Northern Division after they beat arch rivals Manchester United by two goals yesterday.

It is now 13 wins in a row for the Citizens thanks to Thierry Ambrose’s brace on Saturday morning.

The Under 21 side beat United on Monday night so the victory piled more misery on their neighbours at all levels.

Ambrose grabbed his first after pouncing on an awful clearance by the United and dispatching clinically.

He demonstrated his strength in the second goal as he held off a defender to slot the ball home and all but secure the win for City.

Elsewhere, Arsenal’s season is seemingly brightening up after they beat Aston Villa 2-0. It was only their second win of the season, the first being on the opening day.

Fulham remain top of the southern division after beating Leicester City 2-1.

Full results:

Man Utd 0-2 Man City, Newcastle 2-0 Stoke, Arsenal 2-0 A.Villa, Fulham 2-1 Leicester, Southampton 2-1 Chelsea, Tottenham 3-1 Norwich, Everton 3-1 Blackburn.
