Manchester City and Everton will contest this season’s Barclays U18 Premier League final.
City were winners against West Ham on Saturday whilst Everton beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
Both sides played in the northern division this season, with City taking the title. Head-to-head the clubs share one victory each. Man City thrashed Everton 4-1 in November but the Toffees won 2-1 on home soil in March.
City ended up winning the northern division but found themselves 1-0 down against southern league runners-up West Ham after just eight minutes on Saturday.
Jordan Brown netted for the Hammers, guiding the ball into an empty net after a defensive error.
Goals from captain Ashley Smith-Brown and Kean Bryan turned the game around though. Smith-Brown beat Vit Nemrava with a curling effort whilst Nathan Mavila conceded a penalty to gift City a winner and Bryan made no mistake from the spot.
Michael Donohue scored the only goal of the game at Goodison Park in Everton’s victory. Donohue netted 15 minutes from time. Anton Walkes had the best opportunity for an equaliser in the closing stages but couldn’t get the better of Russell Griffiths.
A date, time and venue for the final is to be confirmed.
