I am a 24-year-old Multimedia Journalism graduate from Bournemouth University currently working as an Audio Visual Officer at Southampton FC.
I started The Youth Radar in 2011 after identifying a massive gap in the market for youth football on the Internet. The website quickly grew from strength to strength and it went on to be nominated for a Guardian Student Media Award, recognized by the Guardian, Eurosport and BBC Sport and became commercially viable through advertising revenues.
Sadly, the time constraints of full-time work in a demanding environment mean that the website is no longer being updated. However, I am very proud of my work with The Youth Radar, widely regarded as the first dedicated youth football website on the Internet. I am confident that its presence led to the emergence of new websites/social feeds covering the subject and the topic’s ever-rising coverage across the mainstream media.
